Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Are handpoke(a.k.a Stick'N'Poke) tattoos permanent?
A: Yes. Handpoke tattoos use the same exact needles and ink that conventional tattooing uses. The only difference is the method in which the ink is delivered into the dermis, by manual force versus electricity driving a machine.
Q: Do handpoke(a.k.a Stick'N'Poke) tattoos hurt?
A: Any tattoo has some degree of pain considering there is a needle being poked in to the skin. However, from everybody I have tattooed so far, myself included, think that handpoke tattoos hurt way less than conventional machine tattoos.
Q: Where can you get a handpoke(a.k.a Stick'N'Poke) tattoo?
A: You can get a handpoke tattoo anywhere you would be able to get a regular tattoo.
Q: How long does a handpoke(a.k.a Stick'N'Poke) tattoo take to do?
A: Handpoke tattoos do take longer than a machine tattoo, all depending on the size and amount of detail in the piece.
Q: How does tattooing at my own house work?
A: Since I am traveling, I would be bringing all necessary supplies with me in order to complete the tattoo with sterility. The only things I would need to confirm with you, the client, is that you have a space that is large enough for both of us to sit in with my tattoo trolley and lighting/recording equipment. For the most part, depending on where on your body you want to get tattooed, as long as you have a table and two chairs we should be set!
Q: How do I take care of my handpoke(a.k.a Stick'N'Poke) tattoo?
A: The aftercare for handpoked tattoos is pretty much the same as regular tattoos:
1. Keep the new tattoo out of the sunlight/UV rays
2. Keep the new tattoo clean and moisturized
3. Do not scratch, pick or vigorously rub the tattoo during the healing process.
*** How you keep your tattoo clean:
To clean your tattoo use a gentle soap(free of fragrances and dyes - I like ones made for sensitive skin) and with warm water gently go over your tattoo in a circular motion.
Rinse the area by splashing
Pat dry with a paper towel
Apply a moisturizer(see below)
*** How to keep your tattoo moisturized:
To keep your tattoo moisturized, a lot of tattooists recommend Aquaphor, which is great, but I personally like to use Jojoba oil. Jojoba oil has the closest molecular makeup and closest pH to our body's own natural oils, therefore it is readily absorbed by the body, ensuring that your tattoo stays hydrated.

Q: What happens if I change my mind about the design last minute?
A: If you happen to change your mind last minute, just know that there might be an extra charge associated with the, due to the fact that another sketch and stencil would have to be made up on the spot, as well as taking more time out of my schedule for the session.
Q: Can I have somebody with me during my tattoo appointment?
A: I do not mind my clients having anyone there with them, however, since I am a traveling artist - as long as there are no rambunctious children or pets that could potentially knock over any of my equipment or contaminate the area I'm working in I am totally fine with having an audience!
